All of the transformers I looked at had the same color coding for the wires. Some of the wires were solid
color PVC. Others were double cotton covered with colored threads woven into the outer covering.
The PVC did not hold up well at all.
I finally discovered how to tell the original double cotton covered color. Use an Exacto knife to shred
the insulation and then take a very close up picture.
